Sophie London is a singer-songwriter living in Boston, Massachusetts. Sophie's debut self-titled album, "Sophie London," self-released in the spring of 2011, has received impressive reviews. Filled with catchy guitar melodies, lovely choruses, and soaring harmonies, the album showcases Sophie as a truly talented young artist at the start of a promising musical career.

Introducing Sophie in a recent WGBH radio interview, author and journalist Steve Almond stated, "Most of us spend our high school years in a state of perpetual embarrassment. But 18-year-old Sophie London put her time to better use. In addition to all the schoolwork, Sophie holed up in her room with a guitar, and wrote songs. Then she recorded them herself and released a self-titled record." The result, he said, is "Fantastic. A wonderful piece of music."

Sophie's passion is writing and performing rock-folk songs that highlight her gorgeous vocals, harmonies, and guitar work. Classically trained as a violinist, Sophie brings many influences to her music. Her melodic sound has been compared to Sheryl Crow and Shawn Colvin. Sophie credits one of her musical heroes, Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day, for influencing her unique arrangements and tempo changes. Sophie is also inspired by the songs of Jakob Dylan, whose full, vibrant sound she particularly admires.

Sophie's up-tempo song "Get It Right" was featured on the nationally-broadcast reality show "Plain Jane," airing on the CW network. She performs regularly at Boston-area events, and has developed a strong fan base. Sophie continues to write and record new music, and hopes to release an another CD in the near future. -
